Introduction

The Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas, the Catholic University of the Philippines, is committed to protect the personal privacy of its stakeholders. It is the policy of the University that information collected from its stakeholders be stored, maintained, and used by the University only for appropriate, necessary, and clearly defined purposes, and that such information be controlled and safeguarded in order to ensure the protection of personal privacy to the extent permitted by law.

To be consistent with data protection laws, we ask you to take a moment to review the key points in this privacy policy. By availing of the University’s services, you consent to use of your data under this privacy policy.

Information we collect

We collect relevant personal information online through the Application portal. Likewise, we collect supporting documents submitted in electronic or printed forms (e.g., Transcript of Records, Certificate of Good Moral Character, etc.). The results of your UST Clinical Audiology Entrance Test (UST – CAET) are appended to the personal information you submit online.

Why we process your data

We use your personal data, together with the results of your UST Clinical Audiology Entrance Test (UST – CAET), to determine your eligibility for admission to any of the programs offered by the University. We also utilize your data for educational, research and institutional quality assurance purposes, such as in establishing trends in admission to our programs in order to inform our decisions on future program offerings and projected resource needs.

How we process your data

We may use your personal information to contact you on matters pertaining to your application for admission. We determine your individual eligibility for admission to your program of choice by evaluating your credentials and UST Clinical Audiology Entrance Test (UST – CAET) results against program standards.

We conduct data analytics of all admission data annually for the purposes mentioned above and we compare aggregate data with those of previous years to compare trends. We may conduct predictive and prescriptive analytics for future decision-making regarding our program offerings. These aggregate analyses do not identify you individually.

We retain depersonalized information after qualified applicants have already enrolled. This information feeds models for 10-year predictive and prescriptive analyses for future decision-making.

However, we retain names and email addresses of those who have not qualified for admission so we can provide you with information on continuing professional development (CPD) programs, graduate programs, or any other University activity open to the public, which you may be of interest to you in the future. You may opt not to receive this information by unticking the choice below, and we will not keep your data for these marketing purposes.

How we share information

The Office for Admissions (OFAD) is the Personal Information Controller (PIC) of all admissions-related data.

With the permission of the University’s Data Protection Officer (DPO), subject to compliance with research ethics and data privacy, the OFAD may share your depersonalized information to academic researchers who may request for such, instituting measures that will not allow you to be individually identified. You may opt not to grant these academic researchers with access to your personal information by unticking the choice below.

We may need to share your data when we believe it is required by law or to protect your and our rights, welfare, and security. We may likewise need to share your data if required by regulatory agencies such as the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Legal Education Board (LEB), Department of Education (DepEd), or by local and international accrediting agencies (e.g., PACUCOA, PAASCU), as part of the monitoring and/or evaluation process.

Once you qualify for admission, your personal information will be shared with the Office of the Registrar so you will only need to provide additional information necessary for enrollment.

Your choices and obligations

You have the option not to grant use of your personal information for institutional marketing purposes or for research done by individuals or groups outside of institutional research purposes by unticking the options below.

You have the obligation to ensure the completeness and accuracy of all information provided to the University. Provision of fraudulent information, if proven to be deliberate, may prevent you from being admitted to the University.

We implement security safeguards designed to protect your data. We regularly monitor our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks, and apply necessary measures to protect your data.

The Master of Clinical Audiology Program was born from the ardent desire to free the Filipinos from the bondage of silence and imbalance in the Philippines. Almost two decades after the University pioneered the course, the Program continues to graduate Thomasian Audiology Professionals committed to evidence-based practice through research, competently advancing the profession in helping individuals with hearing disability, compassionately engaged in community service, and committed to the nation’s development. Guided by the values of the Faculty bearing the Catholic and Christian identity of the University of Santo Tomas, the Program seeks to admit applicants who possess the intellectual capacity, maturity, motivation, and Christian values necessary for success in the field of Audiology. To objectively evaluate applicants who wish to be part of the Thomasian community through the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, the Program adopts the following guidelines and criteria for selecting incoming students.

  1. The University accepts a maximum of thirty students into the Program every year.
  2. All applicants should have graduated or are expected to graduate with a BA/BS degree from their respective University or College before the start of the Academic Year. As the program demands a good background in the health sciences, applicants must have completed at least three (3) academic units in Social and Behavioral Science and six (6) units in Biological and Physical Sciences. Though a strong foundation in Allied Sciences would be advantageous, other B.S. and B.A. degree holders may still apply. Applicants from foreign schools expected to graduate later than the official start of classes may still be accepted if a letter from the university/college is submitted stating that they will graduate on the specified date.
  3. With a limited number of slots available, the application is highly competitive, with selection done through ranking based on admission examination results (35%), academic performance trends (35%), and online admission interviews (30%) conducted by a panel of Faculty members of the Program.
  4. English is the medium of instruction in the Faculty. Non-English speaking international applicants must present TOEFL/ESL results with a total TOEFL score of 94 or higher (and its equivalent in ESL) with a minimum of 27 for Writing and 23 for Speaking to follow the Program. In addition, international students and/or non-Filipino (non-Pilipino) speaking applicants must learn to talk to Filipino as an eventual requirement for Clinical Practicum as they undergo actual patient encounters in the Hearing Sciences Laboratory and other clinical placement sites.
  5. In support of their value formation and maturity, all applicants are required to submit a certificate of good moral character/letter of recommendation from any of the following:
    1. School / Employer / Immediate Supervisor, and
    2. Parish Priest / Pastor / Minister or head of religious group who can support the spiritual and moral standing of the applicant
  6. As a rule, the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery – Master of Clinical Audiology Program does NOT accept transferees from Master of Clinical Audiology Programs of other schools.
  7. Applicants with conviction records of any crime or felony are not eligible for admission.

The Master of Clinical Audiology program application period are from May 2025 to July 2, 2025.

Important Reminders:

  • The exam schedule will be on July 5, 2025.
  • The Testing Center of the UST Clinical Audiology Entrance Test is UST Manila located along España Boulevard.
  • The application fee of P600.00 is non-refundable.

  1. Click “Register” to begin your online application.
  2. Complete the pre-registration process to receive your reference number.
  3. Log in to the application portal to continue and complete your admission application.
  4. Upload all required application documents.
  5. Click the “Submit” button under the Documents Uploading tab to finalize your application.
  6. Wait for your application to be verified.
  7. Pay the application fee through the University’s Online Payment Gateway (OPG).
  8. Download and print your test permit.
  9. Wait for the release of your interview schedule.
  10. Admission results will be announced by the UST Clinical Audiology Office.

  1. An applicant must be a holder of a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree, or a candidate for graduation for such degree by end of school year 2024-2025.
  2. If an applicant is graduating in 2025, the original copy of a temporary transcript containing College records from the first year up to the first term/semester of the fourth or last year prior to graduation should be submitted.

  1. For UST graduates/graduating students, the certificate (1 copy) should come from the Office for Student Affairs (OSA).
  2. For non-UST graduates/graduating students, the certificate (1 copy) should come from the Guidance Office or its equivalent or from the Dean of their current College.
  3. Graduates of 2021 to 2025 should secure the certificate from their school.
  4. Applicants who graduated in 2020 or earlier must submit one (1) letter of recommendation from their employer.

  • TOEFL/ESL results for non-English speaking international students.
  • Police clearance from place of residence. *(Non-Resident Aliens)

  1. How do I submit my requirements?

All requirements must be uploaded in the application portal.

  1. Are there any fees to be paid?

Yes. The application fee is Six Hundred Philippine Pesos (PHP 600).

In addition, the foreign applicants will have to pay an Out-of-State fee of Fifteen Thousand US Dollars (USD 15,000) ONLY IF accepted into the program.

  1. How do I pay for my application?

You may pay the application fee through the University Online Payment Gateway (OPG). The payment link can be accessed in your application portal.

  1. Are the fees refundable or transferable?

The application fee, the out-of-state-fee, and the reservation fee are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  1. I am presently enrolled in college and will be finishing in July. May I still apply?

You may apply however, if the official transcript of records cannot be released by your school in time for enrollment, you need to secure a certification from the Registrar of the Dean of your school stating that you are expected to graduate by July. This certificate should be submitted together with the other requirements. If you are not able to graduate by July (e.g., due to failures) your slot and other non-refundable fees paid are forfeited in favor of UST. 

For those graduating in August (or beyond), you may apply for the next school year, instead.

  1. I made a mistake while entering data. What should I do?

Once the “Submit” button is clicked, changes in the application can no longer be made. In the unfortunate event that this happens, please contact the UST Office for Admissions at ofad.medadmission@ust.edu.ph.
